Title: Middle School English Language Arts Grades 6-8
Description: Teacher capable of teaching ELA standards in Grades 6 - 8.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a current Arkansas Teaching License. (7-12 preferred)
Applicants must have effective instructional skills and experiences along with a proven background in education.
Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
Reports To: Principal and Assistant Principal
Terms of Employment: 190 days with benefits provided according to the Siloam
Springs School Board policies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work collaboratively with content team (PLC) and grade level interdisciplinary team.
- Teach the Arkansas English Language Arts standards associated with Grades 6-8
- Implement a variety of effective research based instructional strategies consistently to engage learners with the essential learning standards.
- Monitor and assess student progress frequently using both formative and summative assessments and provide appropriate feedback.
- Effectively use and analyze data to adjust instruction and/or support student needs
- Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier I) to meet the needs of all learners reteaching when needed and extending learning for others.
- Effectively implement district initiatives.
- Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures.
- Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
- Embrace middle school model and philosophy.
Other Job Functions:
- Have or develop a working knowledge of Arkansas Academic Standards
- Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education.
