The Cath Lab Technician is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This role involves supporting physicians during procedures ensuring patient safety and operating specialized imaging and monitoring equipment in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
Prepare and maintain Cath Lab equipment and sterile field
Monitor patients throughout procedures and report any changes
Perform imaging and support fluoroscopic procedures
Ensure adherence to safety infection control and radiation protocols
Document procedures using systems such as Epic Systems
Maintain accurate patient records and procedure logs
Procedures & Case Mix
Coronary artery disease (diagnostic and interventional)
Peripheral vascular disease procedures
Cardiac arrhythmia treatments
Permanent pacemaker procedures
Schedule & Work Details
Day Shift: 4 x 10-hour shifts (06:30 AM 5:00 PM)
On-call required
No weekend requirement
No floating required
Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
Certifications required:
ARRT (required)
Fluoroscopy Permit (or proof of application at submission)
BLS from American Heart Association
ACLS from American Heart Association
Strong knowledge of interventional cardiology procedures
Ability to work in a high-acuity fast-paced environment
