Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (Inpatient / Certified) Location: Hyannis MA (02601) Duration: 26 Weeks Schedule: 40 hours/week Day or Evening Shift
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy this role you will assist pharmacists in medication preparation distribution inventory management and documentation ensuring safe accurate and timely pharmaceutical services while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
Review and process medication orders accurately and efficiently
Prepare and distribute medications to patient care units
Ensure timely delivery of medications across departments
Maintain medication inventory including stocking expiration checks and returns
Perform pharmacy billing and administrative tasks
Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation
Pre-package and label medications into unit-dose packaging
Answer and route incoming calls escalating clinical inquiries to pharmacists
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department
Follow all safety infection control and departmental protocols
Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
Attend required meetings trainings and in-service sessions
Deliver excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff
Perform additional duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
Inpatient Pharmacy Technician
Order medications from approved vendors
Prepare sterile and parenteral products
Assist in training and onboarding new pharmacy staff
Manage distribution of Schedule IIV medications via automated dispensing systems
Certified Pharmacy Technician
Perform medication reconciliation and update patient medication records
Assist with chemotherapy preparation under pharmacist supervision
Conduct dosage calculation checks to ensure accuracy
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
High School Diploma or GED required
Active Pharmacy Technician registration (as applicable)
PTCB Certification or equivalent required
Experience
Minimum 1 year of recent Pharmacy Technician experience (within the last 3 years) required
