Position Title: Coordinator of Virtual Learning
Reports To: Principal
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- Valid Oklahoma Teacher certification required
- Minimum of three years of experience in secondary education virtual learning online instruction or student support services.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students families teachers and administrators in both virtual and in-person settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear consistent and professional communication.
- Proficiency in educational technology tools including virtual learning platforms learning management systems student information systems and communication platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and support teachers students and families in navigating virtual learning tools.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goals:
- Oversee all aspects of virtual learning at Jenks High School including collaboration with virtual learning teachers.
- Provide leadership for continuous improvement in virtual instruction and creation of the virtual high school experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student engagement and academic progress across virtual learning platforms including daily and weekly review of course activity and performance data.
- Assist teachers with identifying students who are not actively participating falling behind or experiencing academic difficulty; implement timely interventions and provide ongoing support to improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with school counselors to monitor student graduation progress ensuring alignment with credit requirements and timely course completion.
- Verify completion of required coursework assessments and testing benchmarks; communicate concerns regarding student progress to counselors and administration.
- Oversee and manage a virtual advisory cohort facilitating regular check-ins and supporting student academic and postsecondary planning.
- Coordinate and monitor ICAP (Individual Career and Academic Plan) completion including delivering lessons tracking progress and maintaining access to virtual resources.
- Serve as a resource for virtual students and families maintaining consistent and proactive communication regarding expectations progress and key deadlines.
- Develop and distribute communication materials including welcome information program expectations progress updates weekly session logs and end-of-semester notifications.
- Proctor virtual and in-person assessments as needed ensuring adherence to testing protocols and maintaining academic integrity.
- Coordinate virtual program operations including course setup pacing guides calendars and key milestone dates within the learning management system.
- Communicate and collaborate with teachers regarding course expectations timelines and student progress to ensure alignment and program consistency.
- Support implementation of virtual learning programs and initiatives including family outreach and informational events such as Back-to-School activities.
- Identify students requiring Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) interventions and collaborate with administration to develop and implement appropriate support plans.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to students and families related to virtual learning platforms and tools.
- Remove barriers to student success by connecting students and families with appropriate academic technical and organizational resources.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment: Teacher contract nine (9) months a year and extra duty contract for ten (10) days. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Benefits as established by Board policy.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Educations policy on Staff Evaluation (2.20/certified).
