News Assistant Intern
Job Summary
The New York Times is looking for a full-time News Assistant intern for our Paris Bureau for a duration of six months starting July 1st(with some flexibility on the start date).
Main Responsibilities:
- As a NYT intern you will be in charge of the daily press review as well as monitoring potential stories throughout the day. Our intern will also do research translation from French to English work with reporters on news and/or assist correspondents who need help with their reporting.
- You will be encouraged to come up with story ideas and work on them with a correspondent or on your own.
- In the course of your stay with us you will be encouraged to write or co-write one or more stories yourself under the supervision of a correspondent
- We will ensure that you get to go out on reporting assignments and cover events that you might find interesting.
Our ideal candidate:
- Fluency in French and English
- Deep knowledge of France
- Strong interest in journalism with some journalism experience/journalism degree preferred
