Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Staff Nurse provides professional nursing services and patient care at the direction of medical director or nurse supervisor. Follows established nursing process including patient assessment nursing diagnosis planning intervention and evaluation. Ensures adherence to university policies and nursing procedures standards and practices. Provides direct professional nursing care to a specified population of patients.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
Associates Degree 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors degree 2 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 12 years of direct clinical nursing experience preferred.

Skills: Clinical proficiency strong communication skills patient-centered care confidentiality adherence and ability to respond to emergent situations.

Clinical operations and procedures. Knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Knowledge of clinical and/or surgical facilities instruments and equipment.

Ability to plan implement and evaluate individual patient care programs. Ability to draw intravenous and peripheral blood.

Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive confidential issues.

Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records.

Performs chart audits and reviews clinical documentation to ensure accuracy.

Ensures compliance with JCAHO accreditation standards

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is performed in an interior medical/clinical environment.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
