External Communication Manager Belgium & Luxembourg

At the Tubize and Herstal sites

In Tubize you will join more than 350 colleagues recognized by domestic and international partners for expertise on products such as Radio Frequency (RF) Products C4ISR Crypto Global Solution MACS (Aeronautical Intercom) and many others.

In Herstal you will join more than 250 colleagues specialized in the design development production and supply of weapon systems and ammunitions for use by customers in the Defense (MoD) Aerospace (OEM) and Land (OEM) sectors. With the Guided Rocket in the portfolio additional markets segments are now addressed like Ground-to-Ground applications or Counter-UAS.

Your mission

As External Communications Manager you are responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy as well as managing all communications projects for external audiences within Thales in Belgium & Luxembourg. You work in close cooperation with both Country Management and the Corporate Communications functions. Your role encompasses collaboration on a wide range of activities including media relations events & exhibitions corporate social responsibility branding and social media. You are in charge of the animation of the communication community within the various entities of BeLux.

• You provide operational communication support to the Country Business Development team.
• You develop and execute a media strategy across all Thaless key market verticals supporting both corporate and local announcements and projects.
• You provide on-ground support for various events and activities throughout the year.
• You develop diverse collateral to support Thales in BeLux across all internal and external platforms press releases corporate presentations country fact sheets internal news employee town halls etc.
• In partnership with country and corporate leadership you manage local community relations and sponsorship programs.
• You lead the organization of the various exhibition and events organized by Thales in BeLux or in which Thales Belgium is participating.

We are looking forward to

• A university degree or equivalent in public relations communications journalism and/or marketing
• At least 3 years of working experience in the communications field
• Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate ideas simply and accurately
• Familiar with working in international and high-tech environments
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• A strategic thinker
• A team player who works well in complex matrix environments
• Creative and enthusiastic
• French English Dutch is a plus
