The EEG Technologist is responsible for performing electroencephalographic studies to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions. This role includes both inpatient and ambulatory support along with shared on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform EEG studies and related neurodiagnostic procedures.
Prepare patients and explain procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation.
Monitor and record brain wave activity accurately.
Recognize and document abnormalities in EEG recordings.
Maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning of EEG systems.
Collaborate with neurologists and healthcare teams for patient care.
Document procedures and results using systems such as Epic Systems.
Participate in on-call coverage and respond to urgent testing needs.
Schedule & Work Environment
Day shifts (12-hour shifts)
Full-time schedule (3 shifts per week)
Combination of ambulatory clinic and hospital-based work
On-call requirement including approximately one weekend per month
No block scheduling
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of EEG Technologist experience
Registered EEG Technologist (REEGT) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Strong knowledge of EEG procedures and neurodiagnostic testing
Preferred Skills
Experience in both inpatient and ambulatory EEG settings
Ability to work independently and handle on-call responsibilities
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
