Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Sales Engineer to support the growth of our industrial product and machinery business. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between engineering and sales by delivering tailored solutions to customers operating in precision manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with abrasive processes such as grinding honing lapping or polishing along with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective and existing customers
Assess customer requirements and recommend appropriate products materials and machinery solutions
Support customers with product selection system configuration and application optimization
Provide post-sale technical support and troubleshoot issues related to installed equipment
Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through closing and repeat business
Build and maintain strong relationships with engineers procurement teams and decision-makers
Identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts
Monitor industry trends customer feedback and competitor activity to inform sales strategy
Maintain accurate records of sales activity forecasts and customer interactions using CRM tools
Travel to customer sites trade shows and industry events as required
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related technical field preferred
Minimum 35 years of experience in technical sales applications engineering or a related role
Direct experience with abrasive processes such as grinding honing lapping or polishing is required
Strong understanding of industrial machinery and manufacturing processes
Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills
Ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
Self-motivated organized and able to work independently
Preferred Experience
Experience with diamond or superabrasive products
Exposure to industries such as semiconductor aerospace automotive or medical manufacturing
Background in precision machining or surface finishing applications
