Job Summary
Summary: The Control Valve Technician II role involves advanced responsibilities such as following Quality Standardization Procedures for valve repair utilizing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to identify contaminated valves and recognizing missing parts. This position requires proficiency in valve repair according to company standards and operating various shop equipment including test stands disassembly and assembly tools. Additionally the role includes readiness for manufacturer training and the ability to mentor junior :All additional job responsibilities of a Control Valve Technician ILocate use and comprehend manufacturer installation and operation manualsPerform inspection to identify necessary corrective action as authorizedPerform PMIAssemble test and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and/or customer requirementsInstall instrumentation/accessories as necessaryOperate diagnostic equipment (i.e. Valscope profiler etc.)Verify calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality proceduresMeasure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specificationsSupport Control Valve Technician I employees through mentoring and/or on-the-job trainingMay act in a leadership role for assigned areaPositional Requirements & Qualifications:Education & Experience: HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus2 - 5 years of industry experienceSkills & AbilitiesMeets all Control Valve Technician I qualifications and requirementsProficient in Control Valve Technician I responsibilitiesCompleted CV Level II certificationCompleted QC assessmentSuccessful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization ProceduresSuccessful completion of Control Valve Level II Written and Performance TestsBasic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC only if required)Demonstrate the ability to properly assemble and test valves/equipment of multiple control valve manufacturersDemonstrate proficient use of precision dimensional equipment (i.e. dial caliper micrometer etc.)Demonstrate ability to bend and fit tubingCompleted inspection assessmentCompleted certification training for use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipmentCompleted diagnostic equipment training and/or certificationDemonstrate proficiency at pneumatic and digital positioner calibrationEffective oral & written communication skillsDemonstrated can do attitude and excellent customer service skillsMinimal supervision requiredMust be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelinesClear background check and drug/alcohol screeningEssential Physical FunctionsLifting: up to 50 poundsAdjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directionsLift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feetBending stooping walking and climbing stairsAble to passperiodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA or descending ladders stairs scaffolding rampsMoving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spacesRemaining in a stationary position often standing or sitting for prolonged periodsMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherCommunicating with others to exchange informationRepeating motions that may include the wrists handsand/or fingersOperating machinery and/or power toolsOperating motor vehicles or heavy equipmentAssessing the accuracy neatnessand thoroughness of the work assignedRequired physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirementsThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed.
