Position Summary
The RN Manager for Specialty Services oversees outpatient specialty clinic operations focusing on improving patient access workflow efficiency safety quality and overall patient experience. This leadership role is key in enhancing healthcare delivery within a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Provide daily leadership coaching and mentorship to clinic staff
- Promote a culture of safety quality and patient-centered care
- Identify and resolve workflow and operational challenges
- Conduct regular staff meetings to enhance engagement and performance
- Collaborate with leadership to improve specialty and surgical services
Operations & Performance
- Optimize scheduling referrals and patient access
- Standardize workflows to increase efficiency and reduce wait times
- Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with clinical policies procedures and regulatory standards
Staffing & Development
- Recruit onboard and mentor staff
- Support professional development and training initiatives
- Oversee staff competencies certifications and licensing compliance
- Manage employee relations in collaboration with leadership
- Ensure appropriate daily staffing levels
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain readiness for regulatory reviews and accreditation standards
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols
- Lead quality improvement (QI/QA) initiatives
- Oversee clinic supply management and recommend equipment needs
Requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (preferred)
Experience
- 5 years of clinical RN experience (including at least 1 year in ambulatory care)
- 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting
Licensure & Certifications
- Active unrestricted RN license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Current BLS certification
- Required clinical and managerial competencies within 3 months of hire (renewed every 3 years)
