The Press Assistant role is responsible for the setup and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/ work at MCC:Compensation: Starting at $19.50/hr shift differential for 2nd & 3rdGenerous benefits package including medical dental vision disability life insurance and 401(k)Paid Holidays: New Years Memorial Day Fourth of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day plus two floating holidaysResponsibilities:Comply with all company and safety policies and proceduresAttains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changesAssists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeoverCleans ink pans and ancillary equipmentStrips plates from cylindersLocates dies to and from the pressMay be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe lightComply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCCMay be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentationResponsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspaceResponsible for working overtime when needed and as assignedRelated duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrint shop experience helpful but not requiredAbility to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team playerAbility to read and understand a job ticketAbility to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)Ability to input data into the computerAbility to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructionsAbility to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time The physical demands require standing using hands to feel and touch reaching with arms and hands and talking and position requires frequent an employee is required to climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
