Position Summary:

Directs the departments activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Required Skills:

Essential Functions

• Develops and implements departmental goals plans and standards consistent with clinical administrative legal and ethical requirements
• Directs and evaluates departmental operations including financial activities service levels and performance outcomes
• Plans and monitors staffing activities including hiring orientation evaluation and development
• Prepares monitors and evaluates departmental budgets ensuring compliance with allocated funding
• Coordinates and directs internal and external audits
• Fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and development
• Ensures alignment with the organizations continuum of care
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Non-Essential Functions:

• Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers clients and contractors
• Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information
• Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manages the work of others including planning assigning and reviewing work
• Responsible for hiring training performance management and corrective action for staff

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g. HIPAA)
• Knowledge of business office standards and practices
• Ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and lead
• Financial acumen including budgeting forecasting and financial analysis
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Office and data systems

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive computer tasks
• Occasional standing walking bending and lifting up to 20 pounds
• Requires visual acuity including close distance and peripheral vision
• Ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred
• Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of education

Work Environment:

• Work performed in a climate-controlled office and hospital environment
• Potential exposure to biohazards and infectious materials
• Noise level typical of office and healthcare settings
• Occasional travel required (up to 10%)
