JOB SUMMARY:
To use leadership supervisory and administrative skills to support a school facility in the planning development and implementation of site instructional and operational goals and objectives in additional to the overall evaluation of the effectiveness of educational programs and personnel performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Maryland State Department of Education Advanced Professional Certificate with eligibility of Administrator I/II endorsements.
- A Masters degree in appropriate field with an emphasis in supervision educational administration and secondary curriculum.
- A minimum of five (5) years of satisfactory experience in teaching administration or supervision.
- Demonstrated successful and effective administrative experience.
- A demonstrated understanding of curriculum development and design and of instructional strategies.
- Possess strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Acts as the instructional leader of the school.
- Provides instructional leadership in program development and implementation of county curriculum.
- Provides leadership in the development implementation and evaluation of school improvement plans.
- Improves the quality of instruction through teacher observations/evaluations staff development and teacher conferences.
- Responsible for the maintenance of a safe clean and orderly school facility.
- Develops good rapport among school personnel students and the community.
- Maintains a professional deportment and appearance.
- Emulates the highest professional ethics and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
