Job Duties
Physical Examination (including Neurological Examination) within 24 hours of admission (to be divided with a family nurse practitioner) and prompt documentation thereof:
Respond to sick calls and provide assessment document treatment and provide on-going general medical care
Provide appropriate education on general medical care to patients regarding to their treatment
Provide education to nursing and medical services staff
Participates in the Performance Improvement projects of the hospital when requested and at least 1 Hospital/Med Staff Committee (Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee with Opioid Stewardship and Antibiotic Stewardship subcommittees)
Maintains Continuing Medical Education hours meeting State licensing requirements.
Completes mandatory training including Recovery Training necessary to develop and maintain professional skills and assist in the recovery of those served in the facility
This role also serves as the supervisors to the family nurse practitioner.
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess good evaluation/examination documentation and diagnostic skills for the treatment and management of medical and major psychiatric illnesses. Must have knowledge of current medical and basic psychiatric treatment modalities. Must possess effective communication skills both oral and written in order to succinctly document in the medical record and for articulating and interacting with patients and others. Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
