Monitor and supervise the reflection room and assist classroom teachers when a student is temporarily removed from the classroom. Provide feedback/guidance to students completing reflective and restorative practices.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Principal and staff in working with students in order to minimize distractions toward others in the classroom; manage student behavior.
- Provide opportunities for students in order to reflect positive alternatives for managing their behavior in a school setting.
- Demonstrate and maintain a positive attitude in the classroom to provide a safe and orderly environment
- Report students who are performing illegal acts refusing to comply with policies and procedures causing physical danger to others or themselves or are being overtly defiant.
- Encourage students to maintain expected standards of behavior displaying appropriate manners and respecting others.
- Maintain compliance and enforce established discipline policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all instructions and directions provided by the classroom teacher.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings and trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Assistant Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma necessary
- Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
- Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
- FBI Criminal History Record
- Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994
Assignment: Part-time 5.25 hours per day on all student days.
Hours: 9:15am - 3pm
Pay: $17.70 per hour
