Job Description:
The speech/language therapist is responsible for direct in-class and pull-out speech services and consultations that allow students access to the general education curriculum. Student evaluation and IEP development are also requirements of the must be proficient in understanding and implementing special education plans progress monitoring scheduling and coordination of services across multiple candidate must have experience working with students with Intellectual Impairment Autism Moderate/Severe Language Impairment as well as a strong skill set in the delivery of language pragmatic supports and instruction. The ideal candidate will have experienceworking with students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems.
- Following the student IEPs and ensuring compliance with state and federal SPED regulations including the delivery of high-quality services the provision of accommodations/modifications for instruction and assessment.
- Complete the evaluation diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders for students.
- Prepare written reports upon the completion of an evaluation.
- Communicate and collaborate with parents teachers and other school personnel to provide recommendations for class accommodations modifications and appropriate referrals.
- Develop and implement goals as specified in the students Individualized Educational Program.
- Monitor and document progress towards IEP goals.
- Create and coordinate a schedule of services for students to ensure all IEP requirements are met.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning in the least restrictive environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-LanguagePathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competency
- 3 years of experience in a special education school setting
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Commonwealth of MA licensed as a Speech and Language Pathologist
- Experience with AAC Devices
