We seek a talented and engaged software engineer who is eager to contribute to a worldleading research environment and support the development of the first version of a userfriendly software tool that uses physicsinformed neural networks to perform power system dynamic simulations.

The Division for Power and Energy Systems at DTU Wind and Energy Systems conducts cuttingedge research in sustainable reliable and costefficient energy systems for the benefit of society. At DTU Wind and Energy Systems you will be part of a creative and inspiring work environment with about 400 highly skilled and motivated colleagues.

This is an administrative/research-support position and is connected to the ERC ProofofConcept project PINNSim: Power System Simulator based on PhysicsInformed Neural Networks a prestigious grant awarded by the European Research Council. The project aims to translate key outcomes from our ERCfunded grant VeriPhIED into the first steps toward commercialization and realworld application.

Responsibilities and qualifications
You will be part of a dynamic working environment with a friendly team atmosphere where you will have the opportunity to grow and further develop your technical professional and personal skills.

We are looking for a software engineer with solid experience in developing webbased interfaces connected to Python this role you will play a key part in linking simulation algorithms with intuitive and userfriendly web applications helping to create stateoftheart simulation tools and enabling capabilities that are the first of their kind.

We are seeking selfmotivated and teamoriented individuals who thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with complex technical challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Integrating Python-based simulation code with a modern web-based user interface
  • Designing and implementing robust data pipelines to support simulation workflows
  • Developing and maintaining scalable backend services
  • Designing and refining GUI components in close collaboration with the research team
  • Ensuring performance reliability and usability of the web application
  • Contributing to architecture decisions and continuous improvement of development processes

A strong candidate will have experience in four or more of the following areas:

  • Strong Python skills and experience building web interfaces with Python backends
  • Experience with web frameworks (e.g. Django Flask FastAPI or similar)
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (e.g. JavaScript HTML CSS)
  • Understanding of software architecture APIs and data integration
  • Familiarity with cloud deployment or containerization (Docker CI/CD pipelines)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

As a formal qualification you must have a masters degree in computer science software engineering or a related field.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
