Job Summary
Job Title: ESY 2026- Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing All programs
POSITION OVERVIEW
Provide consultation and direct services to meet the educational needs of hearing impaired students in PreK K-8 High School and/or Post-Secondary/Transition programs who require an Extended School Year (ESY) per their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the areas of language development and language
refinement needed by hearing impaired children
- Review available medical/audiological/educational information pertaining to the students needs
- Make contact with parents of students to schedule appointments as needed
- Provide direct service pursuant to students IEP goals
- Communicate with students team of ESY educators as appropriate
- Monitor the condition and use of appropriate amplification equipment for each student
- Provide basic training and troubleshooting to students and teachers on individual and/ or classroom amplification systems used by students.
- Collect data to document student maintenance of skills during the ESY program
- Prepare ESY progress reports based on data collection
- Collaborate and consult with ESY staff members to provide strategies to adapt or modify learning tasks as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS
- MA DESE Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing licensure required
- Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment
SCHEDULE:
- July 6 2026 - July 30. 2026
- All staff report for a full day on July 6th for orientation and classroom set-up. Students begin on July 7th
- Additional 30 minutes per work day for planning
- Total weekly hours sites and schedule are dependent on caseload; Specific teacher schedule will be arranged with ESY Coordinators and will encompass direct service time hearing equipment setup and/or troubleshooting time and travel between sites
- Teacher may submit up to 5.5 additional hours via timesheet between July 10th and August 12th for writing student progress reports.
