Panels Officer (Business Support Role in Procurement Team)

The role
The Panels Officer role centres on establishing maintaining and ensuring the compliant use of prequalified supplier panels enabling staff to undertake procurement activities with transparency efficiency and costeffectiveness.
You will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple Council business units to identify develop maintain and support the effective use of prequalified supplier panels streamlining procurement and enabling the delivery of highquality valueformoney projects for the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing advice and support for procurement and contract management activities across the organisation with a focus on establishing and managing prequalified supplier lists (Panels).
- Understanding of procurement legislation governance and bestpractice sourcing processes and providing associated advice
- Leading RFx activities where appropriate ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies and procedures.
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder networks through providing practical advice and developing effective working relationships.
- Develop key user skills with MidCoast Councils sourcing platform and provide support and training to end users.
- Providing clear communication and organisational skills to effectively manage competing priorities for the Procurement team and the wider business.
What youll bring
- Experience in procurement tendering and contract management preferably in a local government or public sector environment or the ability to quickly adapt to a regulated setting.
- Familiarity with eprocurement sourcing platforms and contract management systems. HavingVendorPanel experience would be highly desirable.
- A strong commitment to integrity accountability and ethical procurement practices.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering value for the organisation and the community.
- A collaborative approach and confidence working with a range of stakeholders including senior management.

Salary: Circa $74000 p.a. plus superannuation.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent Full Time.
