The Registered Dietitian will provide clinical nutrition services to adult patients in an inpatient acute care setting. This role involves assessing nutritional needs developing care plans and managing specialized nutrition therapies to support patient recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatient adults.
Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
Manage and write orders for enteral and parenteral nutrition.
Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions as needed.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams.
Document patient care and progress using systems such as Epic Systems.
Provide nutrition education to patients and caregivers.
Ensure compliance with clinical standards and regulatory guidelines.
Work Environment
Acute care hospital setting (adult inpatient population)
Opportunity to support multiple facilities within the same health system
Teaching hospital and trauma center environment
Schedule & Work Environment
Day shift (8-hour shifts)
Flexible start times within daytime hours
No on-call requirement
No weekend requirement
Floating required between facilities (advance notice provided)
Patient Load
Approximately 810 patients per day
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential
State licensure (as applicable)
Recent inpatient acute care experience (within the last 6 months excluding internship)
Proficiency in:
Enteral nutrition
Parenteral nutrition order writing
Experience with electronic medical records such as Epic Systems
Preferred Skills
Experience in high-acuity hospital environments
Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
