Job Summary
Your team: Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations but operate as one team and work together to create a positive productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK. This role is based in the Corporate Reporting Team in Peterborough reporting to Head of Finance - Corporate Reporting.
Day to day you will:
Financial Reporting & Statements: Oversee the preparation of 40 sets of international trading financial statements and lead the quarterly US GAAP consolidation and reporting process for News Corporation.
Audit Management: Act as the primary lead for audits across the UK and ROI as well as the Group audit process throughout the year.
SOX Compliance Leadership: Lead and manage News UK SOX process bridging the gap between Finance and Technology to design implement and test key controls.
Stakeholder Liaison: Manage critical relationships with external auditors (EY) Corporate Audit and News Corps compliance teams to resolve deficiencies and educate the business on control frameworks.
Technical Accounting: Oversee technical accounting adjustments such as ASC 842 Leases and ensure compliance with ASC 606 Revenue recognition.
Financial Operations: Own the month-end process including intercompany accounting provisions schedules and the Blackline balance sheet reconciliation process.
Governance & Risk (GRC): Lead the GRC project team to manage SAP access conduct user access reviews and mitigate Segregation of Duty (SoD) risks.
M&A & Integration: Support acquisition and M&A activity by implementing compliance frameworks and ensuring new ventures adhere to corporate policies.
Team Leadership: Direct mentor and develop a team of three qualified and unqualified staff members.
Strategic Support: Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and support for Finance Directors and senior management across the Group.
What were looking for from you:
Qualified ACA or ACCA (preferably from Big 4 background)
SOX or internal control audit experience preferable
Large company controls based audit experience
Up to date technical knowledge with strong accounting skills
Drive and enthusiasm to develop the role
Leadership and management skills to develop team members
