Key Job Responsibilities:
Serves as a subject matter expert on database systems and procedures for new projects and facilitates planning (5%)
Implements complex security measures to safeguard digital information (10%)
Develops data architectures and database management policies and standards (10%)
Monitors and analyzes database audit tables and logs and provides complex data warehousing support and data extraction (30%)
Identifies and resolves data issues and upholds database-use guidelines (10%)
Identifies develops and facilitates unit staff training opportunities in the effective utilization of databases (5%)
Provides technical leadership in data models and standards for large complex enterprise analytics initiatives (10%)
Provides technical leadership in enterprise data quality master data transformation and preparation for large complex enterprise analytics initiatives (10%)
Installs configures maintains backs up restores and performance-tunes databases (10%)

Compensation:
The minimum annual salary for this position is $120000. Actual starting salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
5 years of professional work experience in database administration data management or related field
Experience with database design security documentation and coding in a cloud or cloud-hybrid environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong preference for data engineering experience (data modeling ETL etc.)
Experience working in higher education
Experience in implementing new data systems and platforms
Experience implementing and managing DevOps/CI/CD automations
Cloud certifications (AWS/Microsoft/Google)
Experience migrating on-premises and legacy systems into cloud services and integrating cloud services into existing infrastructure
Experience managing cloud databases (Snowflake Redshift etc.)
Experience managing cloud tools related to data management (AWS S3 ADLS MPP clusters etc.)
Experience managing logical databases or lakehouses (Denodo Dremio etc.)
Education:
Bachelors degree preferred
