JOB SUMMARY:TheTeenProgram Coordinatoris responsible forplanning developing implementing and evaluating engaging programs tailored to teens in 6th 12th position plays a key role in fostering a positive safe and enriching environment that aligns with the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains values: Teamwork Impact Driven Excellence and Good Character. The Program Coordinator ensures high-quality programming by incorporating the five key elements of positive youth development: fun safety recognition opportunities & expectations and supportive relationships. This role also includes supporting staff overseeing program operations and contributing to the Clubs overall mission.
JOB DUTIES:
Program Development & Implementation:
- Develop plan and oversee engaging and impactful programming forteenmembers ensuring it meets the needs and interests of members.
- Ensure programming aligns with Club values and supports positive youth development.
- Leads National Boys & Girls Club Impact Programs such as Career Launch Diplomas to Degrees Youth of the Year Money Matters Life & Workforce Readiness and Goals for Graduation etc. to ensure measurable outcomes.
- Cultivate an enriching environment that encourages skill development teamwork and continued growth within the esports program.
- Responsible for creating membership outreach strategies and implementing these strategies for all youth.
- Create and execute membership outreach strategies to attract and retain teen members ensuring inclusivity and diversity.
- Collaborate with staff to create and implement special projects grant-funded programs and events.
- Oversee programlogistics ensuring smooth daily operations inallprogrammingspaces.
- Manage program-related budget and grant requirements.
- Communicate regularly with theTeen ProgramDirectorregardingClub operations and program effectiveness.
- Submitrequired program updates for newsletters reports and other publications.
- Be available to support Club operations duringunexpected full days (e.g. snow days)to ensure continued service.
- Continuously evaluate program effectiveness ensuring a high-quality experience for all participants.
- Establish a safe supportive and fun environment for members.
- Workwiththe Teen Program Director andcommunity partners to enhance programming and services.
- Assistwith promoting the Club and recruiting new members.
- Allotherduties asassigned by supervisor.
- Supervise support and evaluate program staff ensuring they uphold Club values and provide a high-quality experience for youth.
- Conduct team meetings and one-on-one check-ins with direct reports.
- Assistin hiring training and evaluating program staff including90-day and annual performance reviews.
- Address member behavioral or disciplinary issues promptly and professionally whilemaintaininga positive atmosphere.
- Ensure staffing needs are met by gathering availability and creating schedules that provide adequate coverage for all programs and operational needs.
- Participate in weekly team meetings monthly all-staff meetings and ongoing training.
- Assistin orienting new members and their familiestothe Club.
- Supportspecial eventsand Club-wide initiatives as needed.
- Responsible for managingcertainbudget line itemsand grant requirements.
- Responsibleforcreatingthe staff schedule.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelorsdegree or threeyearsequivalent experience ina similarfieldis preferred.
- Preferred experience with gaming systems platforms and related digital technologies.
- Minimum of 1-year experience with youth services organizations
- Passion for youth development and commitment to theBoys & Girls Club mission.
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Ability toengage inspire and support youth and staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability in afast-paced dynamicenvironment.
- Experience inprogram planning youth engagement and team leadershippreferred.
- Must be able to understand implement anddemonstrateprinciplesof behavior management and other youth treatment modalities per theClubtrainingand values of fun supportive relationships recognition opportunities and expectations and safety.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Mustbe of the mental and physical capacity toobserve interact and communicate with youth staff volunteers parents etc. at the Club to ensure safety of the space and others provide guidance and reflection per the Clubspriority outcomes and goals.
- Ability to stand/sit forlong periodsof time throughout a shift.
- Ability tooperatevarious typesof general office equipment including PC telephone copier etc.
- This positionis considered to besafety sensitive.
