The Department

The Practical Nurse and Health Care Aide Department is within the School of Health and provides quality instruction and learning experiences for students completing their Practical Nurse Diploma or Health Care Aide in thestate of the artHealth Education Centre and locatedinside theaward winningGrande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) studentsbenefitfrom smaller class sizes coupled with high-quality personalized instruction on-site at GPRH ensuringample opportunitiesfor the learners of our region and students from across Canada and around the world.

The Role

The Practical Nurse and Health Care Aide department is seekingfour full-time instructorsto teachsectionsfrom both the Practical Nurse and Health Care Aide programs. The successfulapplicantsmaycommencein either August or December 2026 depending on workload dates will reflect programdelivery timelines typically August 15 2026 - April 30 2027 or December 14 2026 - August 30 2027. Applicants must hold a Practical Nurse diploma or nursing degree have current registration with a regulatory body (CRNA or CLPNA) and two years of full-time experience in nursing practice. Previous experience in adult teaching or supervision of students is desired. Experience with student centered learning approaches would be an asset. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Successful candidates will be professionals with a positive attitude towards education; have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with students; be able to work independently and work collaboratively with colleagues; and demonstrate the ability to be self-directed and motivated. You will be able to give guidance and direction to others creatively find solutions to challenges and be aware of goals and vision of nursing education. Working knowledge with computers word processing programs and Outlook would be an asset.
