Job Title: RN Long Term Care
Location: Wrangell Alaska

Schedule: Full-Time (Day/Night Shifts Available)
Position Summary
The RN Long Term Care is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient-centered nursing care to residents across all age groups. This role includes clinical decision-making care coordination patient education leadership responsibilities and supervision of support staff within a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide safe therapeutic and age-appropriate nursing care
- Assess plan implement and evaluate resident care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition
- Document assessments interventions and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR)
Care Coordination
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Coordinate resident care activities and treatment plans
- Communicate effectively with residents and their families
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise CNAs LPNs technicians and support staff during assigned shifts
- Serve as charge nurse when required
- Delegate tasks and provide clinical guidance to team members
- Participate in staff training education and mentoring
Patient & Family Support
- Educate residents and families on conditions treatments and care plans
- Support psychosocial needs and coping strategies
- Participate in care conferences and discharge planning
Quality & Compliance
- Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and state regulations
Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN BSN or Diploma)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 12 years of nursing experience preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Active RN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Clinical competency within 3 months of hire (renewed every 3 years)
- High-risk competency within 3 months of hire (renewed annually)
