Job Summary

Job Description:

As a Certification Engineer for Cabin Safety and Interior you are the crucial interface between Airbus Development and international aviation authorities.

You are responsible for the Type Certification of cabin equipment (ATA 25) as well as signage and marking (ATA 11) for all our aircraft programs.

In this key position you not only ensure compliance with current regulations but also actively help shape the certification standards for future innovative cabin concepts. If you combine profound technical expertise with a strong sense of responsibility and prioritize passenger safety this position offers a challenging and meaningful task.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Development and release of compliance demonstration programs as a binding specification for development departments.

  • Execution of airworthiness approvals within the scope of the privileges of our Design Organization.

  • Management of certification projects in direct coordination with national and international aviation authorities (e.g. EASA FAA).

  • Technical consulting for specialists on all issues of certification and conformity.

  • Representation of the Airbus Office of Airworthiness during audits by aviation authorities and effective coordination in a multinational environment.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Profound knowledge in the area of aircraft cabins and their components.

  • Experience in aircraft certification and in dealing with airworthiness regulations such as CS25 and JAR11.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills when dealing with internal stakeholders and external authorities.

  • Structured analytical and decisive way of working.

  • Willingness to undertake national and international business travel.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry.
