Design Engineer Road
Job Summary
- Participates in the preparation of technical proposals for road infrastructure projects.
- Requests the design brief in cases where it is not attached to the contract or where clear terms of reference are missing.
- Analyzes understands and assumes responsibility for the terms of reference contractual requirements and applicable standards and regulations.
- Prepares requests for quotations for subcontractors and submits them for approval to the Department Manager.
- Participates in the design activities ensuring compliance with contractual deadlines and the design schedule.
- Develops technical design solutions appropriate to the design phase and the Beneficiarys requirements.
- Prepares technical drawings and written documentation of the project in accordance with the content framework specific to the design phase in which they are involved.
- Provides technical documentation to the appointed technical verifiers for project verification purposes.
- Participates in the technical verification process carried out by certified verifiers and incorporates their comments where applicable.
- Carries out site visits within the scope of the projects in order to correlate the proposed solutions with the actual site conditions.
- Acts promptly when technical requirements or agreed deadlines are not met proposing remedial solutions without negatively impacting the project.
- Prepares interim reports for the Beneficiary or other interested parties when required by the design brief.
- Actively participates in the development and substantiation of the adopted technical solution.
- Contributes to maintaining a professional working relationship with the Beneficiary and the subcontractors involved in the project.
- Participates in interactions with local authorities utility owners external project verifiers and other institutions directly or indirectly involved in the project implementation.
- Participates in and depending on experience and delegation supports interim approvals and the final project approval process.
- Participates in and where applicable supports approval procedures with the Beneficiary and with permitting authorities.
- Ensures effective communication with subcontractors in order to comply with agreed delivery deadlines.
- Reviews the documentation received from subcontractors for compliance with the established terms of reference and project requirements.
- Participates in the handover of the project documentation to the Beneficiary.
- Participates in monitoring the project during the construction phase (designers technical assistance).
- Complies with and ensures the confidentiality of all information documents and materials whose disclosure could cause harm to the company and/or the employees of Egis Romania.
Qualifications :
- Preparation: higher education in the construction field namely Railway Road and Bridge Engineering
- Seniority: 3-5 years of experience
- Strong computer skills (proficiency in recognised design software and Microsoft applications)
- English language
- Communication ability. Ability to analyse and synthesize. Decision making capacity.
- Assuming responsibilities and maintaining the confidentiality of the information to which he has access
