Materials and Processes Engineering (MPE) Department from GE Vernova Bangalore India is seeking an Engineer to work on manufacturing support as MPE for suppliers in the region. The engineer will also have responsibility to perform material analysis related to new supplier/technology development in the region.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Follow SQDC culture while working on supplier qualifications as MPE.
- Own qualifications as MPE approver in the eSQA system
- Disposition sdr/ncrs as needed
- Work on qualifying GT parts which can include small mechanical parts (SMP) forgings castings coatings raw materials etc.
- Follow GEV and MPE established and written qualification processes/procedures to qualify suppliers.
- Travel to supplier locations for technical assessments and audits
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams such as DLE and SQE teams
- Validate supplier data by performing testing utilizing BEC MPE labs
- Document technical assessment data in eDRB reports and present in multiple forums
- Reach out to various stake holders to understand the needs of potential supplier/technology development in the region
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to customers
Required Qualifications
- M.S/ in Materials science and engineering
- Knowledge of mechanical and metallurgical processes in manufacturing: casting forging rolling etc.
- Familiar with microstructures and mechanical properties of steels and nickel base superalloys
- Familiar with material characterization tools and equipment such as optical microscope digital microscope Scanning Electron Microscope XRD hardness tester
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 standard
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
Desired Characteristics
- Gas Power Edison Engineer
- Completion of LPX Teardown Training
- Knowledge of physical metallurgy and mechanical behavior of steels and ni-based alloys
- Experience in applying AI/ML techniques in qualifications and day-to-day activities
