Senior Roads Asset Engineer

The role
Join our Strategic Assets team as a Senior Roads Asset Engineer where youll provide expert input across the full road asset lifecycle from design and construction through to maintenance valuation and long-term planning.
Youll coordinate road asset systems and data lead asset reporting and valuations and contribute to forward works programs and Asset Management Plans. Youll also act as a technical SME within the team supporting and mentoring others while working closely with internal stakeholders customers and the community to ensure transparent and effective asset decision-making.
This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to balance technical engineering knowledge with practical real-world asset management outcomes.
What youll bring
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)
- Experience across design construction and maintenance of road assets
- Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management including financial components (capitalisation depreciation valuation)
- Knowledge of asset management principles (e.g. IIMM)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and mentor others

Salary:Salary range $108744 - $122338 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on sills and experience).
A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent Full Time.
