Position Title: Middle & High School Agriculture Teacher Location: Ivy Academy Position Type: Full-Time School Year
Ivy Academy is a public charter school dedicated to experiential learning environmental stewardship and academic excellence. Our mission is to empower students through hands-on inquiry-based education that connects learning to the real world.
We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Agriculture Teacher to serve both middle and high school students. This educator will lead engaging courses that may include agricultural science sustainability food systems and ideal candidate is excited about getting students outdoors working with real-world systems and helping them understand where food comes from and how humans interact with the environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging standards-aligned agriculture curriculum for MS/HS students
Facilitate hands-on learning experiences such as gardening farming and sustainability projects
Integrate environmental science food systems and real-world applications into instruction
Promote student leadership opportunities (e.g. projects competitions community partnerships)
Assess student learning and use data to inform instruction
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
Collaborate with staff to create interdisciplinary learning experiences
Communicate regularly with students families and colleagues
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Agriculture Education Environmental Science or a related field (Masters preferred)
Valid teaching license (or eligibility for licensure in Tennessee)
Knowledge of agricultural practices sustainability or environmental systems
Experience with hands-on project-based or outdoor learning preferred
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
