Looking for a finance role where you can make an immediate impact
This is an opportunity to step into a hands-on Finance Assistant role where your work will genuinely matter from day one. You will be supporting a growing Leeds-based site within a wider group structure giving you both autonomy locally and support from an established central finance team.
With an upcoming team change creating an immediate need this role offers the chance to take ownership of transactional finance activities while building your skills in areas like VAT and CIS.
About the role
You will work closely with the Finance Manager on site providing essential day-to-day transactional support to keep the finance function running smoothly.
This is a varied role with real responsibility ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on and part of a small collaborative team.
Key responsibilities
- Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Managing purchase ledger activities
- Setting up and preparing payment runs
- Supporting bank reconciliations
- Assisting with transactional finance tasks across the business
- Supporting reporting activities for review
- Maintaining accurate financial records
You will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to:
- VAT return postings
- CIS postings
- Broader finance processes within a group structure
- Full training will be provided in these areas.
We are keen to speak with candidates who can bring:
- Proven experience in accounts payable or invoice processing
- Solid exposure to transactional finance tasks
- Confidence using Excel including basic formulas
- A reliable organised approach with strong attention to detail
- The ability to work in a small team and support a standalone manager
- This role would suit someone from an SME or similar fast-paced environment who enjoys variety and responsibility.
