This role leads multidisciplinary engineering teams covering control and protection system applications control automation systems and Low Voltage Secondary Engineering ensuring the delivery of safe high-quality cost-effective and on-time solutions across all projects.

We have delivery centres in Villeurbanne (France) Stafford (UK) Berlin (Germany) & Noida(India) and the candidate needs to ensure collaboration across all of our delivery centres and to drive to the maturity of both parts of our organization. Job Description
Role and Responsibilities:
Engineering & Technical Leadership
Leading the design integration studies testing and delivery of HVDC Control & Protection systems in line with project and tender requirements.
Drive consistent design practices and the deployment of common global engineering processes across all delivery centres.
Provide technical direction governance and expert guidance to ensure solutions meet contractual technical and regulatory requirements.
Execute and oversee engineering analysis and evaluations to ensure compliance with business standards procedures and product/program requirements.
Capture and embed lessons learned to continuously improve technical quality and execution efficiency.
Operational & Delivery Management
Oversee day-to-day engineering operations ensuring safe predictable and efficient execution of projects.
Uphold and embed Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC) principles across all engineering activities.
Define project execution strategies engineering estimates and delivery plans in collaboration with Team Managers.
Identify technical schedule and organisational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Manage engineering resources workloads schedules and project milestones to meet delivery commitments.
Define Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) required resources and skill levels to achieve agreed delivery timelines.
People & Organisational Leadership
Recruit develop coach and retain high-performing engineering talent within the department.
Develop and maintain an effective engineering organisation structure processes and tools to support scalable and repeatable delivery.
Provide direction and guidance to senior specialists team managers and supervisory staff operating with significant autonomy.
Foster a diverse inclusive and collaborative working environment where individuals can perform at their best.
Ensure organisational vision values and behaviours are embedded in daily leadership and decision-making.
Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement
Drive improvements in engineering tools methods systems and operational processes to enhance customer value and business efficiency.
Build strong internal partnerships with project management commercial manufacturing commissioning and global engineering teams.
Actively contribute to cross-functional leadership forums making informed decisions and engaging subject-matter experts when required.
Support business growth by contributing to tendering activities technical risk reviews and execution planning.
Required Qualifications:
Engineering degree or equivalent in Power Systems Power Electronics or a related discipline or proven equivalent experience in HVDC Control & Protection engineering.
Extensive experience in HVDC Control & Protection systems including design integration testing and delivery.
Proven track record of leading large multidisciplinary engineering teams in both technical and operational contexts.
Strong ability to define strategy manage complexity and deliver results in a matrix and multi-site global organisation.
Demonstrated ability to analyse complex problems and implement robust technical and organisational solutions.
Advanced leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
Strong sense of urgency with proven capability to identify manage and mitigate technical and organisational risks.
Experience working across global delivery centres and collaborating with international stakeholders.
Professional working proficiency in German and English.
