MaineGeneral Health is hiring a dependable hardworking Cook to join our Food & Nutrition team at Gray Birch in Augusta. This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports residents every day through quality meal preparation.

Job Description:

Position: Cook

Location: Augusta ME

Schedule: 40 hours per week

Shift: Variable

What Youll Do:

  • Review menus and special orders to determine types and quantities of food to be prepared
  • Cook and prepare meals for patients/residents cafeteria service and catering needs
  • Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency and quality
  • Prepare daily menu items to ensure food is ready at scheduled service times
  • Assist with customer-facing and service duties as needed
  • Adhere to all food safety guidelines including proper storage handling and preparation
  • Maintain a clean safe and organized kitchen and work area
  • Work as part of a team to keep meal service running smoothly and on time
  • In the absence of department leadership help guide staff to complete daily responsibilities

This is a physically active role. You will be on your feet bending lifting and moving throughout your shift.
