The Guelph Community Health Centre supports a variety of student placements including: Social Work Nutrition Midwife Nurse Practitioner Nursing MD rotations Master of Public Health Occupational Therapy Children and Family Studies and more. Please note student onboarding usually aligns with semester start and end dates ie. fall (Sept-Dec) winter (Jan-Apr) and spring/summer (May-Aug). Students are expected to connect with the Volunteer and Student Coordinator at a minimum of 1 month before the start of placement. Guelph Community Health Centre prioritizes people who face barriers to health and accessing services and people who identify as:
- Homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Living on low income
- Newcomers to Canada with language barriers
- Having moderate to severe mental health and/or addiction issues
- Having moderate to severe disabilities
- Indigenous First Nations Inuit and Métis
- Black mixed race and racialized populations
- Experiencing intersectional oppression
- 2SLGBTQIA
- Vulnerable children and their families experiencing conflict isolation or attachment struggles

All students completing a placement with the Guelph Community Health Centre are required to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Screen through their local Police Services Branch prior to start date.
