The Lead Maintenance Technician is a handson working lead responsible for supporting the safe reliable and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment while providing daytoday leadership to maintenance technicians. This role serves as a playercoach performing advanced troubleshooting and repairs while guiding training and coordinating the work of the maintenance team. The Lead Maintenance Technician partners closely with Operations to minimize downtime improve equipment reliability and reinforce a strong safety culture.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
Lead by example in following and enforcing all safety policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper use of PPE and strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control procedures.
Identifyunsafe conditions or behaviors and take immediate corrective action.
Promote housekeeping equipment guarding and safe work practices across the facility.
Maintenance Execution (HandsOn)
Perform advanced troubleshooting repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic and automated systems.
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize unplanned downtime.
Diagnoseroot causes of equipment failures andimplementsustainable solutions.
Support equipment installations upgrades and process improvements.
Lead / Team Coordination (PlayerCoach)
Provide daily workdirectionto maintenance technicians including task assignments and prioritization.
Serve as a technical resource andsubjectmatterexpert during complex repairs or breakdowns.
Coach train and mentor technicians to build skills consistency and accountability.
Support onboarding andcrosstrainingof new or developing technicians.
Planning Documentation & Communication
Coordinate and document maintenance activities using the CMMS including work orders parts usage and repair history.
Communicate equipment status risks and priorities clearly with Operations and leadership.
Assistwith planning maintenance activities to align with production schedules.
Provide input on spare parts needs recurring issues and preventive maintenance improvements.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
Proven ability to lead work execution and coach peers
Strong safety awareness and troubleshooting skills
Preferred
Technical certification or formal training in industrial maintenance electrical or mechatronics
Experience working as a lead senior technician orsubjectmatterexpert
CMMS experience
