Job Description:

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Veterinary Diagnostic and Animal Production Medicine invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct advanced 3D organoid cultures and analyses of highthroughput genomic transcriptomic and proteomic datasets using opensource bioinformatics software. The successful candidate will apply bioinformatics algorithms and statistical methods to interpret analyze and visualize largescale multiomics data. Responsibilities include identifying differentially expressed genes predicting proteinprotein interactions and evaluating functional enrichment. Additional duties include developing and utilizing bioinformatics tools and pipelines to extract biologically meaningful insights from genomic and transcriptomic data and maintaining awareness of emerging methods tools and advances in genomics and bioinformatics research.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Genomics Bioinformatics Molecular Biology or a related field and advance level experience in organoid development in livestock species.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Handson experience with realtime PCR including primer design and qPCR data analysis along with strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience developing Excel macros for data processing and familiarity with database management software for efficient data organization and retrieval
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a teamoriented research environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through presentation of research findings
  • Experience with statistical software packages such as SAS and R for data analysis and visualization as well as training or experience in sequence analysis methods and bioinformatics tools
