Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and committed Teacher of Psychology to join a highly regarded independent school in Cheshire. This is an excellent role for a Psychology specialist who enjoys academic rigour and wants to work with motivated pupils in a calm purposeful environment where high standards curiosity and strong progression are central to school life.

About the Role

As Teacher of Psychology you will teach primarily at KS5 with the potential for KS4 teaching depending on the schools curriculum. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop strong psychological understanding research literacy and confident exam technique.

You will support pupils to:

  • Secure key psychological knowledge across approaches studies and debates

  • Develop confidence with research methods and data/statistics (spec dependent)

  • Write strong evaluative responses with clear argument and evidence

  • Apply theory to real-world behaviour and contemporary issues

  • Build exam confidence through modelling deliberate practice and feedback


The Department

Psychology is a popular subject particularly for pupils aiming for health education social sciences and university pathways. The department is collaborative and well organised with shared planning and a strong focus on high outcomes and independent study habits.


Key Information

  • Location: Cheshire

  • Start Date: ASAP / next term (or by agreement)

  • Contract: Full-time permanent (or as agreed)

  • Salary: Competitive dependent on experience

  • QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)

  • Strong subject knowledge in Psychology

  • Confidence teaching at KS5 (A-Level)

  • High expectations and strong classroom practice
