Job Summary

Background (Project Background)

EpiC is a global project funded by the U.S. Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS). The project provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery to break through barriers toand promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding prevention treatment programming and viral load suppression among the Philippines EpiC now its fifth year of implementation in Mega Manila. To address critical gaps and bottlenecks in HIV response the EpiC Project strengthens the internal capacity of community-based organizations (CBOs) and works closely with the Philippine government to deliver HIV services tailored to the needs of adults at risk and people living with HIV (PLHIV).

Job Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator will report to the Project Manager. The CEC will support the implementation of EpiCs Community Engagement and community strengthening activities in priority sites. Working closely with Community Engagement Program Technical Strategic Implementation and Operational (as needed) teams. The CEC will assist in coordinating community-based organizations networks and partners engaged in HIV prevention testing treatment and support services for adults at risk and people living with HIV (PLHIV)

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Community Engagement Officer (CE Officer) in the development and implementation of EpiCs community strengthening strategies especially those involving young adults. Assist the CE Officer in working with the Program Technical and Strategic Information sub-teams for young adults-related implementation strategies. Propose innovative community engagement and SBCC strategies to intensify demand for HIV and HIV-adjacent services. Map young-adults support groups organizations and networks within EpiC sites to strategically identify areas for collaboration and facilitate efficient engagement. Supervise the EpiC cadre of young adults to better inform project direction and realize active participation of young adult populations in HIV programming. Document EpiC community Engagement efforts and monitor indicators in the Community Engagement Framework. Disseminate capacity strengthening and project implementation opportunities to EpiC community partners on a regular basis. Ensure the meaningful and ethical engagement of young adults and community partners in all EpiC-initiated and supported activities. Perform other related duties

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in social work community development social sciences public health or related field; or at least two (2) years of college education with relevant work experience in community engagement.

  • At least 1-3 years of experience working with community-based organizations NGOs or civil society organizations preferably in HIV or public health program.

  • Experience supporting community mobilization coordination or implementation of field-based activites.

  • Strong coordination documentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically as required. Approximately 20% of the work involves travel in NCR Region 3 and 4A.

Other Qualifications

  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding public health issues among high-risk populations in the Philippines.

  • Ability to manage and complete numerous tasks with a high degree of organization and limited resources.

  • Experience working with community-based organizations or civil society organizations experience in project support and administration preferred.

  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different organizations and cultures.

  • Ability to meet deadlines with strong attention to consistency details and quality.

The expected hiring salary range for this role is PHP 591333 to 620000 annually for basic salary. When determining an offer amount FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant internal equity market pay and budget.
