What youll be doing
The Business Banking Credit Adjudication team of CIBC is accountable for reviewing processing and approving both secured and unsecured applications. As the Business Banking Credit Risk Manager youll work under the supervision of the Director and provide credit assessments and approval services of Business Banking credit applications within delegated limits and BCLASS credit structuring support and advice to frontline lenders.

How youll succeed
- Analysis - Analyze and approve/decline/defer credit applications within the delegated authority exercising sound judgment in the decision making process to ensure the quality of the Banks portfolio is maintained.
- Risk Assessment - Assess the risk of Business Banking credit applications through consideration of financial history cash flow and other analyses within established policies and guidelines. Make credit approval/decline decisions within delegated limits; assess then refer recommendations to your leaders for accounts above delegated limits.
- Make Recommendations - Recommend/negotiate alternative options on declined credit applications such as changes to the amount structure and/or terms and conditions to arrive at an approval while maintaining a balance between customer relations and risk.
- Communication - Effectively communicate both the decision and rationale to assist Relationship Managers in explaining the Banks decision to customers. Identify deteriorating accounts and take/recommend corrective action including transitioning accounts to Special Loans Small Business or Client Account Management to minimize losses.
