About the Role

We are seeking a skilled SW Test Engineer Product Cybersecurity to join our team in Plano TX. This role focuses on validating the security and functionality of embedded systems through both manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in embedded software and hardware testing familiarity with cybersecurity standards and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality and secure products.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute test strategies for embedded systems ensuring alignment with quality standards and project objectives.
• Design develop and execute comprehensive test plans test cases and automation frameworks.
• Perform both manual and automated testing of embedded hardware and software components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development hardware cybersecurity and product teams) to gather testing requirements and prioritize tasks.
• Support defect resolution through detailed analysis and root cause identification.
• Work closely with the test engineering team promoting best practices and a collaborative environment.
• Integrate industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in testing efficiency and coverage.
• Maintain and update test documentation and ensure compliance with project and quality standards.
• Participate in cybersecurity verification and validation activities for embedded products.
• Support CI/CD integration to enable automated and continuous testing.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 5 years of experience in embedded systems testing including both hardware and software components.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as GTest PyTest or similar tools.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux and associated command-line tools.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI Azure DevOps).
• Solid understanding of embedded communication protocols including:
  • UART
  • SPI
  • I2C
  • CAN
  • Ethernet
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis.

Optional/Preferred Skills

• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g. CISSP CEH CompTIA Security).
• Experience with automotive or product cybersecurity standards such as:
  • ISO/SAE 21434
  • NIST
  • OWASP
• Exposure to cybersecurity verification and validation processes.
• Familiarity with threat modeling and secure development practices.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science Electronics Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
