How Many Shifts Needed per Month: (Typically full-time coverage model; 14 21 shifts/month expected)
License:
- Active unrestricted U.S. Physician License (any state preferred for federal facilities)
Certifications:
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Required
Experience Needed: 2 Years (Hospitalist experience preferred)
Special Skills Needed:
- Inpatient care management
- Admission rounding and discharge planning
- EMR/EHR proficiency
- Ability to work in rural/tribal healthcare settings
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 8 Weeks
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient hospitalist services for admitted patients
- Perform admissions daily rounds and discharges
- Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary teams
- Respond to medical emergencies within the hospital
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Ensure compliance with IHS and federal healthcare standards
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
