What Youll Be Doing
As a Sr. Database Administrator you will be joining the Platform Shared Services Application Operations Database Administration Team. You will be responsible for providing database support to build migration performance tuning and incident resolutions as well as addressing questions from application owners and developers working closely with various CIBC Technology groups. You will also be responsible for day-to-day operational activities for others DBs managing escalations modify established procedures approaches to suit specific situations including 24x7 on-call and production support.

How Youll Succeed
Projects Delivery - Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) you will be providing inputs to database standards designs and best practices ensuring compliance with relevant organizational standards. Research analyze and support the development and implementation of new and/or revised technology procedures and standards. You will be working with project managers to develop implementation plans performing database upgrades and migration activities and adopt agile methodology.
Production Support Take a leading role in tackling critical complex production problems. Investigate troubleshoot operational issues and set priority based on severity risk and/or strategic business needs. You will provide inputs to database standards designs best practices and recommend changes to fit specific application requirements.
Collaboration - Work as a liaison with business and technology partners Technology Leadership internal and external clients and stakeholders i.e. Solution Design Database Engineering Information Security Architecture teams and external vendors.
Automation: You will assist in automating manual processes using various DevOps tools such as Ansible Jenkins Github Artifactory & Shell Scripting.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate 7 years experience in database Administration. You have a strong background in developing design plans for either Oracle (Exadata and non-Exadata) or MS SQL and PostgreSQL database upgrades patching and data migration. If your expertise is in SQL databases you hold the Azure Database Administrator certification. If your expertise is in Oracle databases you hold the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification. Experience with Ansible automation scripts for code deployment database migrations and implementing Security Hardening with Oracle Native Security products (TDE Vault OKV and DBSAT) is an asset.
You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a similar field.
