Software Dev Engineer II, AFT Outbound & Flow

We build and operate the software hardware and processes that run the global network of Fulfillment centers(ie Amazon warehouses) which move billions of units of inventory and ensures customers get what they want when promised. Are you ready for a challenge As a Software Development Engineer in the Fulfillment Execution Services team you will get the opportunity to develop our next generation of foundational software which includes orchestrating the work done by workcells(machines robotics and associates) monitoring their state and influencing how customer orders flow through our buildings. You will have an opportunity to own design and development of distributed systems and contribute to a wide range of projects in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will be involved in all the aspects of the software development cycle including scoping design implementation testing & delivery of your product. Key job responsibilities
Design and Build highly scaled and efficient solutions using the latest AWS technologies and infrastructure.
Owning and Maintaining some of the most business critical systems for Amazon that support hundreds of thousands of associates and millions of customer orders per day as they travel through our Fulfillment Centers.
Work with partner teams including Product Science Operations and other Tech teams to understand problems ensure solutions solve those problems and iterate once solutions are live. Use Data. We deep dive analyze interpret and use data on a daily basis to understand problems and fine tune solutions.
More than just coding. Engineers are multi-talented at Amazon. You might work on front end back end data analysis internal tools etc. You are encouraged to explore and invent solutions that best fit the customer problems we solve.
Hire and Develop the Best. Deeply involved in the hiring process as well as onboarding and mentoring less experienced engineers. Also continuously learning and developing your own skills.

A day in the life
Contribution to all the aspects of the software development cycle including scoping design development testing & delivery of your product.
Optimization. Many of our problems involve consuming large amounts of data and inputs processing and visualizing the data and making optimization decision based on that data.
AWS. We use any and all AWS technologies including EC2 S3 Lambda DynamoDB SNS CloudWatch CloudFormation and many others.
We collaborate as a team to design and build solutions using a variety of languages and technologies on a daily basis. We attempt to find the best technology to solve the problem at hand and in many cases that means exploring new technologies that we havent used before.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- 1 years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
