Who we are
Our central role includes managing the provincial power grid in real-time overseeing and evolving Ontarios electricity market engaging with government municipalities and Indigenous communities and planning for Ontarios future electricity needs. Our employees play a key role in driving grid innovation protecting the system from threats advancing the provinces energy conservation programs and forecasting and procuring the electricity resources well need in the decades to come.
This is a unionized position that falls within theSector and Community Engagement Division in the Corporate Relations Engagement and Strategy Business Unit.

The Supervisor Regional & Community Engagement reports to the Senior Manager Regional and Community Engagement and plays a pivotal role in bringing the IESOs community presence to life. This position leads the coordination and delivery of impactful community outreach and stakeholder engagement initiatives that strengthen the IESOs visibility credibility and reputation across diverse regions and audiences.
As a people leader the Supervisor provides daytoday leadership and direction to a highperforming regional and community engagement team ensuring seamless operations and consistent execution. The role is also responsible for translating strategic direction into action by operationalizing engagement strategies and plans developed by the Manager Municipal Relations & Engagement driving meaningful connections and measurable outcomes at the community level.
What youll do
In this role youll make a meaningful impact by contributing to the IESO team and supporting the electricity needs of the province through:
Working under the leadership of the Senior Manager Regional and Community Engagement the Supervisor assists with coordinating the development of community outreach and day-to-day implementation of the engagement plans.
The essential functions of the Supervisor include:
- Leads community outreach engagement activities including:
Supports cross-functional internal working groups in the implementation of effective outreach with communities and stakeholders.
Manages the day-to-day implementation of outreach plans designed to project gain public support for company objectives.
Builds effective relationships with stakeholder and community groups.
Managing activities to support engagement initiatives including research promotion public affairs media affairs and employee participation.
Developing and implementing tools to facilitate the sharing of information and communication of project activities across the organization.
Developing information resources designed to support outreach activities including demographic information competitive information contact history contact feedback and general stakeholder background information.
Ensuring external information resources such as the corporate website are kept up-to-date and provide a sufficient level of information for stakeholders.
Undertakes a regular evaluation of activities to determine effectiveness and makes appropriate recommendations to the teams.
- Lead a team and oversee the daily operations of the team activities including:
Overseeing the work of team members engaged in community and regional outreach stakeholder events and program response initiatives and others from time to time on a project basis.
Prepares a calendar of annual outreach and engagement events to support implementation.
Ensures the stakeholder consultation portion of the website is up-to-date and includes meaningful information for the stakeholder groups.
Ensures information resources related to the different stakeholder groups that interact with the IESO are current and provide meaningful information.
Assigns work and ensures their team members meet deadlines and adhere to quality-of-service delivery. Provides feedback coaching and performance reviews for direct reports. - Oversee the maintenance of the organizations stakeholder database of contacts and feedback information including all relevant documents which form part of evidentiary records including:
Oversight over the corporate Stakeholder Relationship Management system including the management analysis distribution and retention of all corporate records with respect to stakeholder activities and stakeholder feedback.
Maintaining a corporate library of stakeholder communications (sent and received) graphics and relevant stakeholder data.
Maintaining up-to-date information resources for internal clients.
Reviewing stakeholder feedback with the goal of implementing continuous improvements of stakeholder engagement activities. - Provides support to the Sr Manager Community and Regional Engagement for community and regional outreach and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Undertakes special projects as required including the management of external resources.
Other duties or responsibilities may be assigned.
Role Requirements

- Demonstrated experience supporting and implementing regional and community plans and programs with public and community relations experience (advertising and media affairs an asset)
- Strong people leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to lead initiatives with and without direct positional authority
- Superior communication skills (written oral and presentation) including strong diplomatic listening and stakeholder engagement abilities across all organizational levels
- Proven project and program management experience including program design delivery evaluation and issue analysis aligned with corporate objectives
- Strong problem-solving skills including managing groups with divergent views consolidating feedback and developing strategic responses
- Demonstrated research writing and detail-oriented skills with a strong focus on accuracy
- A positive energetic and practical business-focused professional who thrives in change fast-paced environments and shifting priorities
- Collaborative honest and driven team player with excellent interpersonal skills and MS Office proficiency
- Knowledge of energy issues an asset
