An exciting opportunity exists for a Manager Natural Hazard & Event Claims (FS6) on a 12month secondment within the Fast Track Home Claims team.

Location Sydney Melbourne or Brisbane.

This role has endtoend accountability across Natural Hazard and Event claims spanning onshore and partnered operations and extends beyond active event response to include BAU readiness operational uplift and sustained performance outcomes.

The Role

The Manager Natural Hazard & Event Claims is responsible for the endtoend claims operations for Natural Hazard and Event claims within Fast Track Home Claims including claims managed through partnered delivery models.

The role ensures that both onshore and partnermanaged claims are operating effectively consistently and in line with customer cost risk and regulatory expectations during BAU event surges and recovery phases.

Working in close partnership with leaders and stakeholders across Home Claims Disaster Management Workforce Planning Enablement and Partnering the role is accountable for:

  • Leading Natural Hazard and Event claims operations endtoend including both onshore and partnered portfolios
  • Providing operational oversight and support to partnered claims teams ensuring clarity of expectations capability and performance
  • Driving partner performance through clear success measures insights and targeted interventions ensuring agreed outcomes are achieved
  • Enabling claims readiness and surge capability including capacity planning across partner and onshore models
  • Coordinating and prioritising initiatives that improve claim progression customer experience cost management and portfolio health
  • Embedding continuous improvement through postincident reviews partner performance insights and operational uplift ensuring learnings are sustained in BAU

This position is critical in connecting strategy partner delivery and frontline execution ensuring Natural Hazard and Event claims are proactively managed and performance outcomes are consistently achieved.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in home claims is highly desirable with an understanding of endtoend home claims management customer needs and performance drivers across BAU event and recovery contexts
  • Strong risk management capability including identifying assessing and managing operational regulatory and delivery risks and embedding effective controls across BAU event and recovery environments
    Demonstrated experience in endtoend complaints management including oversight of complex and sensitive matters such as AFCA complaints and CEO escalations with a focus on fair outcomes root cause resolution and continuous improvement
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills including the ability to work effectively with external partners and internal leaders
  • Strong capability in partner performance management including setting expectations interpreting performance data and driving improvement actions
  • Strategic conceptual and analytical thinking with the ability to translate complex operational information into clear priorities and actions
  • Proven business acumen including an understanding of claims performance drivers cost customer outcomes and risk controls across different delivery models
  • Demonstrated experience in planning prioritisation and delivery including operational governance workforce enablement and leading change across systems processes and people
  • Highly effective communication skills with the ability to provide clarity and direction across BAU event and recovery environments
  • Ability to develop deep knowledge of stakeholder and partner environments and manage expectations to achieve aligned and sustainable outcomes
