Survey Technician

| General Description: |
| The Surveying Technician supports our surveying and engineering teams by performing a variety of field office and mapping duties. This position also assists with drafting mapping and complies surveying information on coordinates pictures angles and distances. |
| Key Responsibilities: |
- Sets up adjusts operates inspects surveying equipment including electronic total station data collector to measure distances elevations angles and other data in order to collect survey data.
- Participates and observes field and construction investigations.
- Processes data from manual or electronic field books.
- Performs basic field calculations on construction projects.
- Retraces or surveys boundary lines under supervision.
- Assists in researching existing record information including record maps plans deeds easements and right-of-way documents; and maintain field data record.
- Other duties as assigned

| Education and Experience: |
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An associate degree in a civil engineering or land surveying program is preferred.
- One or more years of relevant work experience related to surveying services is preferred.
- College course work in surveying or civil engineering field is preferred.

| License or Certification Requirements: |
- Valid drivers license is required
|
| Physical Requirements: |
- This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Be able to walk and climb over rough terrain
|
| PPE Requirements: |
- Hi-Visibility clothing should be worn on job sites and in the field as necessary.
