Sr. Commercial Legal Counsel

The Senior Legal Counsel provides comprehensive in-house legal support to Vertivs business operations in Mexico with additional regional support for Colombia and Central America reporting directly to the Legal Director of LATAM. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders to deliver practical business oriented legal advice across a broad range of corporate commercial and compliance matters.

This position is suited for a legal professional who has recently transitioned into a senior-level role and is continuing to develop depth judgment and regional exposure while operating with increasing autonomy. The Senior Legal Counsel supports the business by identifying legal risks early facilitating commercially sound decisions and ensuring compliance with applicable laws internal policies and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daytoday legal advice to business commercial operations human resources finance and procurement teams in Mexico with regional support for Colombia and Central America.
• Advise on a broad range of legal matters including:
  • Corporate and commercial law
  • Real estate and leasing matters
  • Employment and labor law (individual and collective matters)
  • Compliance and corporate governance
  • Data privacy and data protection
  • Intellectual property and risk management
• Draft review negotiate and interpret a wide range of agreements including:
  • Sales and service agreements
  • Procurement and supply agreements
  • Nondisclosure agreements
  • Consulting and professional services agreements
  • Distribution reseller and partner agreements

Education & Certifications

• Law degree with valid license to practice law in Mexico.
• Strong command of English (written and spoken) is required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a highly rated law firm or corporate environment as a Sr. Lawyer
• 5-7 years of experience in total
• Legal Business Partner mindset
• Hands-on well-versed and collaborative professional
• Able to navigate in highly matrixed and fast-paced Organizations

Travel requirements

• 25% of the time national and international
• US VISA is required
