Job Goals:
The primary goals are to oversee participation in the Michigan Medicaid School Services Program (SSP). This position works closely with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and constituent Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to ensure compliance with Medicaid requirements.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree required in Education Public Administration Health Administration Business Finance Accounting or related field.
Work Experience: Experience with Michigan Medicaid School Services Program (SSSP) preferred. Familiarity with IDEA special education regulations and school-based service delivery preferred. Accounting background desired.
Skills:
Strong organizational communication and analytical skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision and be detail-oriented
Ability to effectively present information and train individuals or groups
Ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously and to work harmoniously withother employees
Ability to travel independently throughout Van Buren County and surrounding areas
Ability to travel to constituent LEAs and attend off-site meetings or conferences
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to manage data create reports and develop training materials.
Data analysis skills necessary for ongoing program evaluation
General professional skills including a willingness to:

Adhere to federal state and VBISD policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and administer the Medicaid School Services Program (SSSP) in compliance with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) requirements
Provide training and technical assistance to service providers through information manuals and group training sessions
Act as help desk for questions related to Medicaid billing process
Obtain and maintain required prescriptions/physician orders
Verify student eligibility related to Medicaid programs
Process submit and track Medicaid claims timely and accurately within online systems such as Power Schools Special Programs and Relay
Monitor Staff Pool lists and encounters to maximize reimbursements
Prepare reports and correspondence related to Medicaid billing
Oversee the electronic archival of student medical and billing documents
Conduct quality assurance to ensure compliance with Medicaid documentation and RMTS participation
Assist with audits and reviews as needed
Attend state and regional Medicaid Implementer meetings to stay current on policy updates program requirements and best practices
Lead program development and operations to guide the integration of Medicaid processes and compliance throughout the county
Manage data relative to districts clinicians students procedure codes caseloads billing etc
Analyze data using spreadsheets databases and other tools
Stay current withFederal and State laws and policies to ensure compliance and to promote best practices
Other duties as assigned
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
Valid drivers license required.
Ability to travel and participate in State meetings
Ability to travel to constituent districts and offsite meetings
Ability to participate in overnight travel to attend conferences or trainings
