Job Summary

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Workforce Consultant youll make a direct and meaningful impact by helping individuals unlock their career potential and connect with this dynamic role youll collaborate with job seekers to create personalized employment plans deliver one-on-one coaching and guide skill development that leads to real results. Youll also build strong relationships with local employers lead engaging workshops and share valuable labor market insights acting as the vital link between a motivated workforce and the businesses that need their talents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Empower clients to take charge of their career journey by developing and implementing personalized job search plans that identify the services training and supports needed for lasting employment success.
  • Discover potential and uncover barriers through interest and skill assessments that inform strategic meaningful employment pathways tailored to each individual.
  • Provide dedicated ongoing guidance with case management and career counseling that connect clients to programs resources and supports that move them closer to their goals.
  • Champion access and opportunity by helping clients navigate workforce programs community resources and partner services with clarity and confidence.
  • Drive progress through collaboration coordinating and tracking client activities services and outcomes to ensure steady advancement toward employment milestones.
  • Inspire career readiness by coaching clients to strengthen job search techniques refine resumes and applications master interviews and overcome obstacles to success.
  • Build lasting bridges between people and opportunity by facilitating workshops partnering with employers and sharing up-to-date labor market insights that help shape a responsive future-ready workforce.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm insight and expertise to the following key areas:

  • Job search planning: Partner with clients to turn career goals into actionable steps by identifying barriers building realistic plans and mapping pathways that lead to lasting employment success.
  • Client communication: Build meaningful connections through active listening empathy and clear communication that fosters trust motivation and confidence at every stage of the job search.
  • Client assessment: Use interviews assessments and keen observation to uncover each clients strengths interests and challenges then transform those insights into personalized employment strategies.
  • Career support and coaching: Guide clients with encouragement and practical advice helping them gain confidence sharpen skills and access the resources needed to move forward with purpose.
  • Resource navigation: Serve as a knowledgeable link to workforce education and community systems making complex processes simple and ensuring clients can access the opportunities that fit their goals.
  • Job skills training: Lead hands on training in key job readiness skills; resume writing applications networking and interview prep all while helping clients overcome barriers that stand in their way.
  • Advocacy: Champion your clients by clearly communicating their skills and potential to employers programs and partners and by explaining workforce services in approachable empowering language.
  • Workshop facilitation: Create and deliver engaging workshops that inspire learning and build confidence through interactive discussion practical exercises and real world skill building.
  • Employer engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with local employers to identify hiring needs open doors to opportunity and connect job seekers with meaningful sustainable employment.
  • Public speaking: Represent the agency with professionalism and confidence delivering dynamic presentations that engage diverse audiences and showcase the power of workforce transformation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience)

  • Proven experience delivering direct employment or workforce support services to unemployed or underemployed individuals as well as those seeking to reskill or upskill into new careers. This includes individualized job placement job readiness assessments career planning and supportive service referrals.
  • In-depth knowledge of human service systems with a strong understanding of common barriers related to employment housing education and community reintegration.
  • Established success in collaborating with a broad range of partners such as employers social service organizations government agencies and nonprofits to connect individuals with education training and job opportunities.
  • Skilled in developing professional reports presentations and documentation for participants partner agencies and supervisors.
  • Experience analyzing service gaps gathering participant or program data and offering informed recommendations to management that support program quality and continuous improvement.
  • A bachelors degree in human services social work workforce development or a closely related field may supplement relevant professional experience but is not a substitute for demonstrated skills and competencies in the areas noted above. Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience will be considered.

This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective on July 1 2026.
